Satellite Offices

One of the goals of the Northern California Computer Crimes Task Force is to expand its operation and services to the rural areas of the state. The establishment of the Shasta Office - Redding Regional Forensic Lab in Eureka was a movement toward that goal.

The Satellite Office was established in late 2003. The Shasta Office - Redding currently has 4 part-time staff members from the Redding Police Department, Shasta County Sheriff’s Office and the District Attorney’s Office. In addition to the Shasta Office, NC3TF has also extended its service area to Humboldt County and has a Regional Forensics Lab in Eureka with a full-time investigator for the coastal region.

Since opening its doors, the Satellite Offices have handled cases involving high technology crimes, and identity theft. In doing so, the Satellite Offices have assisted federal, state, and local law enforcement and prosecutorial agencies.
